The first priority is to complete Wilson's Legacy, with the next step being the installation of sails and sail-handling hardware. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to afford a haul-out until next year, though I started cleaning the bottom yesterday. I still need to inspect a few things down there, including the cutlass bearing. Once the boat is sail-ready, I plan to be out on the water as much as possible, sailing and fishing whenever possible.
After completing the bottom work—bottom paint, through-hull fittings, and installing a transducer—I aim to spend time cruising the Caribbean while promoting local food production and supporting alternative energy systems. I also hope to finish many of the boat’s creature comforts this year, including getting the fridge and freezer running properly. The house is fully solar-powered, with the only fuel required being diesel for the engine.
I also plan to offer others the opportunity to join me on different legs of the journey, as there’s plenty of room aboard. I’ll update this as I move forward with additional projects.
